Harvey, Irma, Maria… Help.

At Heart of Yemalla, we want to keep the victims of the recent parade of hurricanes in our minds and hearts.  We are making preparations to make a contribution to help in the relief of these recent disasters and would like you to consider doing this also (if you haven’t already).   When donating to charitable organizations, it is important to do your own homework to be sure that you feel comfortable donating your hard earned coin to be spent for the purpose in which it was given.

Where should we volunteer your time and/or money?  As we’ve been doing our homework, we thought we’d share five organizations that seem to be working hard to assist in the recent hurricane relief efforts.  But don’t just take our word for it.  This is just a start…

International Relief Teams

According to their website, this organization is preparing to send heavy duty tarps to Puerto Rico for temporary relief while repairs are being made on  destroyed or damaged roofs on their homes after the destruction of Hurricane Maria.

Matthew 25: Ministries

AmeriCares

They have been working with the Department of Health in Puerto Rico to stock emergency shelters with medical equipment and supplies.   According to the claims on their website, to date, due to the recent hurricanes, the organization has provided over $10 million in medicine, supplies and assistance to more than 50 partners in Texas, Florida, U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and St. Martin.
